Welcome to Salford Arms

Salford Arms stands out as a quintessential British pub nestled in the heart of Salford at 146 Chapel St. With a solid 4.1 rating, it offers an inviting retreat just a short walk from Manchester’s bustling centre and directly opposite Salford Central train station. This location balances convenience with charm, making it a favored stop for locals and visitors alike.

From the moment guests step inside, they encounter a warm, friendly atmosphere that echoes through the vibrant, somewhat eclectic decor—a blend of renovated sections mixed with vintage touches, creating a unique character that feels comfortably lived-in rather than overly polished. The pub's layout caters to both casual drinkers and groups, providing ample cozy spaces to sit or stand, which proves invaluable for accommodating varying crowds throughout the day or special celebrations.

The quality of the drinks is frequently praised. A well-curated selection of beers and ales, including their very own lager, highlights local craftsmanship and caters to diverse tastes. Happy hour specials add further incentive to indulge, and the bar staff consistently receive accolades for their polite, fast, and attentive service—even under pressure from a lively crowd. The team, led by landlord Ken, goes the extra mile, evident in gestures like maintaining a stock of vegan wine and hosting a popular Tuesday vegan food night, reflecting a genuine hospitality ethos that resonates deeply with modern, diverse clientele.

Food at Salford Arms, while primarily known for classic pub fare, does not disappoint in providing comfort and flavor, though some dishes may vary in taste week to week, as noted by regulars monitoring their Twitter menu updates. The combination of traditional offerings and thoughtful accommodations, such as vegan options, underscores the pub’s adaptability without losing its authentic character.

Social elements such as an epic jukebox, pool table, and multiple TVs contribute to a lively yet unpretentious environment, making it an ideal venue for unwinding alone, gathering with friends, or celebrating milestone events. This versatility, alongside free Wi-Fi and a smoke-free policy, enhances the overall appeal for visitors and locals, striking a balance between tradition and contemporary expectations.

Overall, Salford Arms is more than just a bar; it's a vibrant community hub. It preserves the spirit of a traditional Salford pub while effortlessly embracing inclusivity and modern convenience. The genuine warmth from staff like Ken and the welcoming vibe make every visit memorable. For anyone seeking an authentic British pub experience with a touch of friendly sophistication, Salford Arms remains a highly recommended destination.

Great pub around 10 minutes walk from Deansgate if you're heading from the centre, turn down Bridge Street and it's at the bottom, just past the train station in front of you. Good beers, reasonable prices, very friendly atmosphere and luckily for us we got there just as happy hour had started. Would highly recommend this place!

Absolutely fantastic pub. I can go in during the day or in the evening and always receive a warm welcome. The landlord, Ken is so accommodating and is happy to ensure he has vegan wine in stock . The jukebox is epic! 10/10

Tuesday night is vegan food night! So it gets a good review from me :-) the starter and dessert were lovely, main was a bit flavourless and dry. But the menu goes up on Twitter every week so check it out! Very friendly service and staff. Weird mishmash of decor inside - a little bit renovated, a little bit tacky, and some very old. Credit and debit cards accepted. no contactless.

Cozy little typical British pub. Plenty of different areas to sit and stand. Even on my short visit close to Christmas, there was enough space to accommodate the growing team of people we had attending at varying times. Staff were a bit young for a busy bar but seemed to cope with the masses that were in there. Nice for a quick pint before catching a train at the very close by Salford Central Station.

Proper traditional pub, with good beer and food, and the most friendly & helpful staff you could imagine. Celebrated my 60th birthday there recently with family and friends of all ages, nobody was disappointed. Ken & the team, you did us proud.

Had a warm and friendly greeting in this Salford local. Good real ale selection including one all the way from Somerset. Popular bar with the local lads with good pool table and TV's. Huge amount of new building in the area so it is good to see this and other traditional pubs like the King's Head and The Eagle still going strong in the area.
